Academic System

Since the signing and enactment of Republic Act Republic Act No. 10533 (also known as the K-12 Law), Philippine public schools have been preparing to transition to the new academic system. Today, Telabastagan Integrated School is able to implement this system and provide our students with enhanced learning opportunities with emphasis on the following areas:

  • Languages
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Values
  • Life skills
  • Love of country
  • Service to fellow men

With the combination of proper teaching practices, resources, opportunities and character-building, students from Telabastagan Integrated School stand a much better chance of succeeding later on in life. Therefore, teachers and school administrators actively collaborate with parents and the local community to ensure the holistic development of our student body.

To properly evaluate the progress and development of each student, Telabastagan Integrated School makes use of performance tests and written examinations. These are exercises that are designed to quantify the learning of a student, allowing both teachers and parents to identify areas of strengths as well as those where improvement is needed.

At the end of each quarter, report cards are issued to for the periodic monitoring of student performance. Grades are then averaged according to subject weight and tallied at the end of the school year.

Students who have exhibited academic excellence are awarded at the end of each school year by Telabastagan Integrated School. In order to qualify for honors, students must meet the following grade requirements:

  • 98-100 – With Highest Honors
  • 95-97 – With High Honors
  • 90-94 – With Honors

Telabastagan Integrated School believes firmly in the holistic development of every child. However, it also recognizes displays of excellence in singular areas. As such, special awards are also given to students who excel in individual subjects and extra-curricular activities.

Other than academics, Telabastagan Integrated School encourages and promotes extra and co-curricular activities. Sports, competitions, performing arts and immersion in civic works are synergies to the development of a child. These activities foster cooperation and camaraderie between fellow students, teachers and community members – an important element in building a successful nation.
